* Crafts Galore Encore: Dia de los Muertes

Hello crafty friends!

October is here!
Crunchy leaves, chilly air and misty mornings ...
Time for a new challenge at
Crafts Galore Encore.

As always the challenge is Anything Goes and we would love to see your creations!

This month we are sponsored by the wonderful
Rick St Dennis

I was lucky to be given a digi called Death on Saturday Night or Dia de los Muertes to work with.

Here is my card:

I coloured the fun image with markers and matted it onto black card. I chose three patterned Halloween papers from Papercakes by Serena Bee. I cut two panels from the Spooky Pastel collection and matted these onto black card as well. The cobweb paper is from October Nights. The sentiment is from a Vera Lane Studio Halloween sentiment set.

The Day of the Dead celebration is one that fascinates me, more so than the traditional Halloween festival. I was lucky to visit the Old Town in San Diego (which is only 20 miles away from the Mexican border) one late October a few year ago and saw a little exhibition.  Here are some photos:

I hope you'll pop to over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs.
We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card.

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo
